I first met Phyllis when we moved to Lombard, on Potomac Ave. - Phyllis lived on Sunset, so we were "back-door" friends. We became Best of Buddies at the age of 11. We did everything together. We were such "tomboys" - loving everything outside: climbing trees, bike riding, running, and playing every sport there was! Our birthdays were only a week apart - we went to Pleasant Lane and loved Bill Moran cuz we loved Phys. Ed.! We went our separate ways in college - but my Mom and Phyllis' Mom kept us posted on each other. I know that Phyllis moved to South Dakota because her husband was a rancher there. She kept VERY active and loved the life. That's why it was a complete shock to hear she died of a heart attack right after our 50th b'days, (1995) while she was biking in the mountains. I will forever miss my dear friend, who shared all my fun/crazy teenage years with!! Judy Long-Reinking
