Roger Thomas Swallow, age 74, of Asheboro died Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston- Salem. Roger Thomas Swallow was born at Elmhurst Hospital in Illinois to Sophia Ann Yasas and Joseph Louis Swallow. He graduated from Southern Illinois University. He was a member of the Illinois National Guard. He was married 53 years to Karen Lee Swallow. He had one son, Tyson Thomas Swallow, now deceased. Surviving are two daughters, Aleta Marie Dozier and Jacinda Ann Swallow. He had ten grandchildren. Two brothers, Ronald and Robert Swallow are deceased. Surviving are two brothers, Russell and Richard Swallow. Roger always seemed to have a project. He was very active. He was very determined and seemed to be able to do most anything. Roger worked for Baxter Laboratories and Kendall Company in Illinois. In North Carolina, he worked at Rampon Products and White Software. Eventually, he had his own business, Swaltronics Research Center, Inc. designing software programs for textile companies. As textile businesses moved out of North Carolina, he started a new career teaching High School in the Randolph County School System. Upon retiring from teaching, he started a craft business called Wood Products by Rog. He enjoyed working with wood and spending time with his dogs. A Private Service will be held.
